The greatest concern of the church is the lost souls of men, but in following the example of Jesus we must also care for the physical needs of people as well. Over and over we read that Jesus was moved with compassion when he saw the great needs of people. Jesus emphasized that we must love our neighbors as we love ourselves. He taught a great lesson on this subject known as the Good Samaritan (Lk. 10: 25-37). We are commanded to love the brethren, and also show love to strangers (Heb. 13:1-2). As Christians, we must do good to all men (Gal. 6:10) and remember the poor (Gal.2:10).
