Visitation Ministry

DelroyDelroy Green

James 1:27, "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows…"

Here at the West Bay Church of Christ, we care about every member. We lay aside our busy schedules and excuses and make people a priority. Those who need encouragement, comfort, or a sense of belonging benefit from this ministry. It also serves to remind them that they are not forgotten.

We Pay Keen Attention To:

  • Members living in nursing homes
  • Those who are sick for a prolonged period of time
  • People who are hospitalized
  • Bereaved people
  • The shut-in among us
  • Widows

Typical Visit:

  1. Exhort and encourage with scripture, prayer, psalms & hymns and spiritual songs.
  2. Listening and let them talk.  A person would find great relief simply by being allowed to talk; to share what is in their heart.
  3. We get to know them better and learn about their individual need.
  4. Extend the gift of touch.  Appropriate hug, a hand on the shoulder, or holding their hands communicates warmth and christian care and love..

To God be the Glory!

If you are encouraged by this article and would like to join the church in their visitations, please see Bro. Delroy Green.  Thank you!
